Jessica Poole Headshot

Jessica Poole is an Irish goldsmith living and working in London. Every piece of fine jewellery is hand made and stone set by Jessica in her Central London workshop where commitment to quality and craft is the very essence of her work.

On completion of a jewellery design degree in Belfast Jessica moved to Kilkenny, Ireland where she studied under the respected tutor and goldsmith Jane Huston. Established by the Crafts Council of Ireland the course was developed to inject a new generation of craftsmen back into the jewellery industry where traditional bench techniques were being lost to Art College design led courses and the lack of funding for apprenticeships. The course was modelled on the traditional German apprenticeship approach to training. Each of the trainees worked through a series of goldsmithing techniques, emerging from the course with a “portfolio” of skills that could be taken directly into the workplace. Each piece had to be accurate to within 1/10th of a millimetre and repetition was insisted upon until each skill was executed correctly. Jessica then moved to London to work with a selection of the best known names in the bespoke jewellery industry. During these 5 years she developed the skills, knowledge and confidence to establish her own business in 2009, focusing on bespoke commissions for private clients as well as her own fine jewellery range.

At the core of all of Jessica’s training was best practise and a passion for traditional skills. She has taken these values with her into her own business insuring that each piece is made with the utmost care and craftsmanship resulting in unique pieces of fine jewellery to be treasured. More about Jessica’s studies and her training in Ireland can be seen in the videos below.

Gem A logoJessica has qualified in Gem Identification and Handling with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, the world’s longest established provider of gemmological training. This has equipped her with the knowledge and confidence to help her clients select the best and most appropriate precious gemstone for each piece of jewellery. In every piece of jewellery Jessica uses Collection Quality diamonds; brilliantly white and of the utmost quality. She ensures that all diamonds are from trusted suppliers who guarantee a conflict free source and support the guidelines of the Kimberly Process.
A Queen Elizabeth Scholar

Jessica is proud to be a Queen Elizabeth Scholar. In 2009 she was awarded one of the organisation’s largest Scholarships which afforded her 3½ months training in Antwerp, Belgium, specialising in the highly specialised skill of Micro Pave Diamond Setting.

Jessica moved to Antwerp in 2010 to complete this one to one intensive training programme under the watchful eye of a master diamond setter. Jessica now uses this technique in much of her work using state of the art equipment and specialised engraving techniques. The technique of using a multitude of tiny stones lends itself particularity well to the fluid forms and soft clean lines of Jessicas work. These lines of “diamond light” are used in such a way that the stones become an integral part of the piece rather than the main focus of it.
